Product Uses

Methylene Chloride is used in a wide range of applications, including:

- Be used as a solvent, especially where high volatility is required: used as a paint stripper and degreaser; as an extracting agent in the pharmaceutical industry, food and beverage manufacturing;  as a blowing agent in polyurethane foams.

- Be the active ingredient in many formulations of paint removers

-Be used in aerosols as a strong solvent, a flammability suppressant, vapor pressure depressant, and viscosity thinner. Current aerosol uses of MC include spray paints and lubricants.

- Be used in the manufacture of photographic film, some aerosol and pesticide products.
